SERVICE TO COMMUNITIES

As part of our mission to promote character development and service to communities, we are committed to teaching young people critical life-long skills such as collaboration, resourcefulness and accountability. Pupils take on increasingly responsible leadership roles that culminate in Leadership and Social Enterprise Projects in which they identify a community concern and then plan, execute and evaluate a project to address it.

Pupils will be expected, as part of this element of the curriculum, to be involved in choosing the projects they will develop and in raising charitable funds.

During the last academic year, our pupils raised almost £4000 for causes such as Macmillan Cancer Support, Red Nose Day, Children in Need, the Poppy Appeal and Christmas Jumper Day.

In 2018-19 parents, pupils and staff made a significant food contribution to the Bradford Foodbank, which was the largest single donation from a school.

Our pupils also played an instrumental role in raising £2300 during our Winter Fair, which will go towards building a “classroom kitchen” and facilitating opportunities for pupils to learn how to cook and develop vital life skills.

In 2019-20 – Parents, pupils and staff made a large contribution of toys to the Bradford Hospital charity, providing Christmas presents to children who were in hospital during the Christmas period.
