We strongly believe that high quality extra-curricular activities enhance pupils’ learning experiences beyond the curriculum and are an essential part of school life. For all our pupils, a comprehensive programme of enrichment opportunities (Leadership Academies) are offered, aimed at developing key personal skills and aptitudes, along with specific interests and talents.
The Leadership Academies provide opportunities for pupils to try new things and are an excellent medium to foster good relationships between staff, pupils and parents. They develop pupils’ social skills by providing a forum of interaction between pupils across different ages and schools.
We offer a variety of Leadership Academies to meet the different interests of the children. These include:
- Healthy Lifestyle – which includes cooking and exercise
- Homework Club
- Breakfast Club
- New Age Kurling
- Archery Club
- Cricket Club
- Science Club
- Football Club
- Kickboxing and Keep Fit
- Cooking Club
- Fun with Food
- Fitness and Food
During the year, after consultation with the children, new clubs are sometimes introduced.
Our Breakfast Club is open daily from 7.45am to 8.20am. Each day we have a variety of breakfasts to suit all tastes. We have recently changed our menus so that we have an exciting selection of foods. e.g. cheese on toast, beans on toast, fresh fruit, cereal and juices. We have theme days, too, when we introduce new foods and activities.
We aim to provide a balanced breakfast that is both tasty and full of goodness – feedback so far is very positive.
Parents are welcome to join their children and staff for breakfast. There is a small charge for all breakfast items.
