Welcome to the home learning page for Year 6 – Updated 1st May 2020
Whilst your child is at home it is crucial that they continue to learn and consolidate their knowledge. The children in year 6 will have received an intense 2 week revision schedule. Even though they are no longer taking the end of Key Stage 2 assessments it is essential that they complete this work in order to prepare them for secondary school. Please make sure your child is confident with their multiplication facts and year 5 and 6 spellings(see below).
Year 6 have also received a green book which includes 7 projects for your child to complete through a range of tasks. This allows children to consolidate the knowledge they learnt through their History and Geography lessons and also develop their independent learning skills which will help them in year 7 and beyond.
It is important that your child also reads regularly, takes exercise daily and keeps a routine. We know that these things will help your child’s well-being which is vital during this unprecedented time.
Below you will also find links to some online resources for pupils to access which will supplement their learning. Try to access websites such as times tables rockstars or BBC bitesize for a short time each day. There are also some links to live daily videos with activities such as PE and stories.
If you have not received you learning pack or have any questions about your child’s learning, please contact school on 01274665812 or firstname.lastname@example.org
Take care and stay safe, Mrs Aslam, Mrs Chapman and Mr Spalton
