Welcome to the home learning page for Year 5 – Updated 1st May 2020
Whilst children are home, it is crucial that they continue to learn. All Year 5 pupils should have received a 12-week learning pack, which includes a week-by-week learning plan alongside a week commencing date. Please stick to the schedule and dates provided as this will ensure that all pupils have work for the entirety of our time away from school. There is a copy of this schedule in the resources below. Try to do a little work each day rather than doing it all at once! As well as completing written work, it is important to read regularly, do things together as a family at home and exercise/be outdoors when you can. Following the Easter holidays, weekly answers to the activities in the Inspire and CGP books will be published here for you to check through and mark work alongside your child.
Below you will also find links to some online resources for pupils to access, which will supplement their learning. Try to access educational websites, such as Times Tables Rockstars or BBC Bitesize, for a short time each day. There are also links to live daily videos with activities such as PE, Dance and Art, which take place alongside professionals or celebrities.
Also inside your pack, you should have found a code for ClassDojo. It is crucial that you use this code to log in to the ClassDojo app (which can be downloaded on to phone, tablet or computer). This app gives your child direct access to their class teacher whilst we are away from school. This will allow them to send messages or photos of any work they are struggling with or would like to show off. Their class teacher can then provide individual feedback to help your child progress with their work or give them praise/rewards (in the form of Dojo’s) for any outstanding work.
If you have not received you learning pack, are struggling with ClassDojo or have any questions about your child’s learning, please contact school on 01274665812 or email@example.com . Alternatively, you can speak to your contact person from school (who rings weekly) and inform them of any issues you have.
Take care, stay safe and enjoy the extra time with your family, Mr Raistrick, Miss Beck and Miss Bahar
