Year 2

Welcome to the home learning page for Year 2 – Updated  1st May 2020

Whilst children are home, it is crucial that they continue to learn. All the children in Year 2 have been given a 12 week learning pack that the children need to complete whilst they are at home. The pack also includes a week-by-week learning plan. Please use this learning plan as a guide for children to work through the work that has been prepared. There is a copy of this schedule in the resources below. Try to do a little work each day rather than doing it all at once!

As well as completing written work, it is important to read regularly and take exercise when you can. In their packs, we have included some creative activities that they children should also have a go at completing. They do not have to complete their packs during the Easter holidays.

Following the Easter holidays, answers for the tasks in the CGP books and Inspire Maths books will be posted on a weekly basis on to the school website. Please check through your child’s work and mark it with them. Help them to correct their mistakes and to spot where they went wrong and how to improve their work.

Below you will also find links to some online resources for pupils to access, which will support your child’s learning. There are also some links to live daily videos with activities such as PE, Art and RWI Phonics. It is important to try get some exercise in every day. All children in Year 2 should also be accessing Times Table Rockstars at least 3x a week.

You should have received a letter from school with information about an app/website called Class Dojo. The app can be downloaded for free on to your phone or tablet or accessed as a website. Class Dojo gives you direct access to your child’s class teacher whilst we are away from school. This will allow you to send messages or photos of any work so that teachers can provide feedback to help your child progress with their work. This is also a great place to upload pictures of work so that you can share any amazing work with class teachers so that they can give them praise and award Dojo points for any excellent work. You will also find links to activities that we think the children will enjoy and we will share information on the class story.

If you have not received you learning pack, are struggling with Class Dojo, don’t have your child’s Times Table Rockstars account details or have any questions about your child’s learning, please contact school on 01274665812 or . Alternatively, you can speak to your contact person from school (who rings weekly) and inform them of any issues you have.

Take care, stay safe and enjoy the extra time with your family, Miss Buck, Mrs Khan, Mrs Manders,
